Painting SPN: Ruby's Knife
Dec. 20th, 2020 04:28 pmMy Supernatural arsenal is almost complete! This is the third resin replica I've ordered from the Etsy store, The Road So Far, and I think it's just about done. Here's my version of Ruby's knife:
This was not an easy project, to be honest. It was very difficult to find a really good screenshot of the weapon, and I really think there are several knives that have been used over the years. The knife in "Lazarus Rising", for example, seems to have a sort of end cap on its handle that is secured with a pin. The version in "First Born" doesn't seem to have the pin, but does have a very different looking cap--almost like a piece of plastic that has been stretched over the end of the (antler-bone?) handle. Also, the replica, while very good in shape and detail, seems much larger in the handle than the onscreen knives. With all of that, and with much input from my husband, here's how it came together.
