In your own space, rec at least three fanworks that you didn’t create. Wow--where did that--whole month-- go? But, better late than not at all, right?
When it comes to fanworks, while I enjoy the odd Avengers or Harry Potter fic/video, Supernatural is still my number one fandom. I prefer gen works like case fic or hurt/comfort, but also dip into Destiel. Here are some of my favorite works from the past year:
1) I watch a lot of fanvids, and AngelDove is my favorite recent discovery. The creator of this channel has amazing editorial skills, and uses color and sound to beautiful effect. Their specialty is Team Free Will character studies, but they also have series overviews and Destiel vids. Here's a recent update to their "This is the Greatest Show" edit, which brought tears to my eyes--spoilers for the end of Supernatural and warnings of excessive feelings apply.
2) While I don't read a lot of AU's, I am a sucker for a good kidfic, meaning fics about the characters raising children, either within the Supernatural world or ones that look more like ours. Two of the best I've found are iSABinE's "Promises to Keep", an AU in which Dean raises Sam's young son while grieving his brother, and Emma Winchester 424's "Where Do We Go Now", which mostly follows canon, but gives Dean a precocious daughter who is raised in the life by the boys and their extended found family.
3) Gen fic--where do I start? I love the Haunted Hotel series by authoressjean. These are case fics with a good dose of hurt/comfort and brotherly feels, that are pretty much canon-compliant. Another favorite is anything by Noxbait on FF.net. I especially liked "The First Time You Died", a coda to the season 11 episode "Red Meat."
So--here's a few recs to start. If you check them out, let me know what you think!
